(WKBW) Actor, television host and dancer Mario Lopez came to Western New York this week.
He's promoting his television show, "Extra" that will air weekdays at 7 p.m. starting September 3rd right here on Channel 7.
During his visit, Lopez was even honored by Buffalo's mayor who proclaimed "Mario Lopez Day" in the Queen City.
Lopez is probably best known for his role as A.C. Slater in the 1990's show, "Saved By The Bell." The show ran for five years, but is airing now in syndication.
Lopez had a daughter Gia two years ago with Broadway dancer Courtney Mazza. Lopez says the two plan to have more children, after tying the knot this December on the TLC network.
Lopez made a big splash back in 2006 on the third season of ABC's Dancing with the Stars. He was runner-up to winner Emmitt Smith, but voted number one by fans for best performance on the show.
He was asked to return for this fall's all-star season, but couldn't fit it into his busy schedule. One thing this 38-year old does make time for is church. The catholic says he's a regular at mass.
Lopez wears many different hats. Besides acting and dancing, he has a line of underwear and workout gear, and he's the author of a fitness book and two cookbooks. He never misses a day at the gym!
