Washington, D.C. (WKBW) -A marine with ties to Western New York has died after being fatally stabbed in Washington, D.C. Police say the victim, 23-year-old Philip Bushong, a Marine and City of Lockport native, was stabbed by 20-year-old Michael Joseph Poth early Saturday morning outside the Marine Barracks. Poth is also a Marine. Police say the men got into some sort of argument around 2:30 a.m and Poth then allegedly used an anti-gay slur, and stabbed Bushong to death with a pocket knife. Bushong was pronounced dead a local hospital. According to a spokesperson, Marine Guards responded to the incident and subdued Poth. He was later turned over to police. Detectives believe the men did not know each other before the fight.
