BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - A local 21-year-old is facing charges after being accused of running over and then dragging a pedestrian several hundred feet with his car.

The incident happened around 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning near the 500 block of Washington Street in Downtown Buffalo.

Police have charged Brandon Addison with vehicular assault, reckless driving and possession of a controlled substance.

Police say Addison ran over the pedestrian and dragged him for about 250 yards through a parking lot. Addison's family says the incident was an accident, and that Addison never knew there was someone under his vehicle.

The victim, 21-year-old Ronato Rodgers, remains at ECMC in critical condition.

Addison was arraigned in City Court Monday morning and is being held on $150,000 bail. A felony hearing has been scheduled for later this week.
