Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont., CA (WKBW)
During the early morning hours of December 16, 2011, a lone male suspect entered the Tim Hortons Restaurant located at the intersection of Mary St. and Mississauga St in the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The male approached the clerk and produced a box cutter knife and demanded cash. A quantity of currency was obtained and the suspect fled the area.
Niagara Regional Police uniform officers and the K9 Unit attended and commenced an investigation, which resulted in the identification of a suspect and vehicle observed leaving the area. Approximately one hour later, Ontario Provincial Police officers on routine patrol observed the suspect vehicle travelling on York Rd., Niagara-on-the-Lake and conducted a traffic stop. Two male occupants of the vehicle were subsequently arrested. The investigation was continued by Niagara Regional Police 2 District Detectives, resulting in a variety of charges against the two men.
20-year-old Peter SNIEGOCKI, of Line 9, Niagara-on-the-Lake is charged with Robbery, Disguise With Intent, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Crack Cocaine), Breach of Recognizance and Breach of Probation.
31-year-old Corrado RAELI,of Goldsmith Av.,St.Catharines is charged with Accessory After The Fact to the offense of Robbery and Obstruct Justice.
Both SNIEGOCKI and RAELI are scheduled to appear at a Bail Hearing at the Robert S.K. Welch Provincial Courthouse, 59 Church St., St. Catharines on Saturday December 17, 2011 at 10:00 A.M.
