According to Washington television station KING 5, an elderly man on Monday returned money he stole from a cash register at a Sears store in Seattle -- in the 1940s.

According to the KING 5 story, the man delivered an envelope with a note admitting the theft and a $100 bill -- to account for interest from the $20 to $30 he stole in the late 1940s.
