Randolph, NY (WKBW-Release)
The driver, JUSTIN MEALY, 29, of Randolph, was removed from the motorcycle for the purpose of performing field sobriety tests, as he had been drinking alcohol prior to the traffic stop. While performing a safety pat down, Trooper KRYWALSKI located and secured a bag containing 5 Oxycodone pills in MEALY’s pocket and a loaded .380 semi automatic handgun concealed in the small of his back. As MEALY passed his field sobriety tests he was not arrested for DWI, but because MEALY did not have a pistol permit nor a prescription for Oxycodone, he was arrested for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, and Possession of a Controlled Substance in a non-original Container. MEALY was transported to SP Jamestown, processed for the above charges and arraigned in the Town of Kiantone Court. MEALY was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail and is scheduled to reappear in the Town of Kiantone Court on a later date.
