GETZVILLE, NY ( WKBW ) Summit Educational Resources in Getzville, New York gave a big thank you to several community leaders Wednesday.

Summit helps children and families dealing with autism. The organization, under the direction of Dr. Stephen Anderson, is recognized as one of the top facilities in the country for their leading edge programs.

The dinner at the Amherst school brought children and families together, along with volunteers, who work with those impacted by autism.

The "Service To Summit Youth Award" was presented to Abbey Nurse. Abbey signed up dozens of students from the Williamsville Schools to take part in the annual Summit Walk For Autism in the spring.

Nurse also raised $1,000 dollars to buy toys for the Summit, and organized an ice cream sundae sale in honor of her twin brother Danny.
