Major League Baseball Player Could Face Hate Crime Charge in Connection With Incident in New York

According to the New York Daily News, Detroit Tigers outfielder Delmon Young was arrested early Friday morning in New York in connection with an altercation in front of a hotel.

According to the Daily News story, Young was confronted by a group of men after allegedly shouting anti-Semitic slurs at a Jewish panhandler. Young is charged with misdemeanor aggravated harassment, which police classified as a possible hate crime, according to the Daily News story.
