The Maid of the Mist extended its season offering free rides on Friday and Saturday.
Despite the chilly weather Friday, hundreds came out to take advantage of that deal. Kevin Keenan, Spokesperson for the Maid of the Mist said 1,000 customers were served in the first hour alone.
Glynn family has operated the Maid of the Mist on both sides of the border since 1971, but beginning next season their service will be reduced to the American side only.
