BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Holiday decorations are still hanging in the living room of the home Lynn DeJac shares with her husband Chuck Peters in South Buffalo.
There has not been time to take them down since DeJac was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. She spends several days a week at Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
"God has a plan. Whatever that plan is I don't know. But he's got some kind of plan," she said.
Five years after she was released from state prison and exonerated in connection with the killing her daughter, DeJac has reunited with her twin sons.
They were 14 when she was released, but now they are 19-year-old young men.
Telling them about the cancer diagnoses was difficult, DeJac said.
"It was hard. One of my sons cried," she said.
DeJac recently received a $2.7 million settlement from New York State for the 13 years she spent in prison.
