(WKBW release) A Buffalo woman and a Niagara Falls man were arrested on drug charges Tuesday after police responded to a 911 hang-up at the Comfort Inn in Lockport.
According to a news release issued by the Lockport Police Department:
At 3:45 a.m. Tuesday, Lockport Police Officers responded to a 911 hang-up call at the Comfort Inn, 551 South Transit Street in the City of Lockport.
Officers responded to Room 269 and located and interviewed Brianna Brown of Buffalo and Charles Griffith of Niagara Falls.
Officers allegedly detected a strong odor of marijuana.
Follow-up investigation allegedly revealed suspected cocaine, pills that are believed to be controlled substances, two digital scales, cell phones, a large amount of suspected marijuana, rubber gloves, plastic bags believed to be intended for individual packaging and a large amount of cash.
Brown and Griffith were both charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree (a class B felony) in addition to other assorted charges.
Both were arraigned in Lockport City Court Tuesday morning.
Brown was remanded to the Niagara County Jail with $10,000.00 bail pending a return court date of 4/3/2013. Griffith was remanded to the Niagara County Jail with “no bail”, also to return to court on 4/3/2013.
The investigation is continuing.
