Lockport, N.Y. (WKBW)

City leaders in Lockport heard from many concerned residents over a budget plan that includes layoffs and a property tax hike.

Under the proposed 2014 budget, 12 police and fire department positions could be cut, along with layoffs in other departments.

Lockport Mayor Michael Tucker says he is still trying to negotiate some concessions with city unions to save the jobs.

Many residents showed up and pleaded with city leaders to put themselves in their shoes.
