Akron, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) An Akron veterinarian is finding a way to give back to pet rescues all over the country with a new online pet pharmacy.

"We take no compensation from this we're doing this because we feel at this stage in our life we want to do something that will really make a difference,' said Dr. Glenn Buckley.

Buckley runs two very busy emergency veterinary hospitals in Florida.

But he took time out of his hectic schedule to give back by opening an online pet pharmacy in his hometown of Akron.

Pet Rescue Rx carries all the essentials your animal may need and while it may look like any other business, this one has a twist.

"We call Pet Rescue Rx a pets before profits pharmacy and the reason we do it is because 100% of our net profit is donated to animal shelters and rescues," said Buckley.

Buckley says he modeled it after the business practices of actor turned entrepreneur, Paul Newman.

"With his starting of his Newman's Own Brands and donating 100% of the net profits to the organizations that he believed in and I thought to myself this business model could work for pet medications."

When customers all over the country call or place their online orders, they also can designate which animal rescue they want their money donated to.
