BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) -American Red Cross Volunteers from Western New York remain downstate to help with the recovery effort. 28 volunteers with the Greater Buffalo American Red Cross remain scattered throughout the Northeast coast assisting so many people still in need. Now, the volunteers have to tackle inches and inches of snow from a nor'easter. Eyewitness News spoke to one of those volunteers: Martin Doster of Getzville. Doster has been in the New York City area since Halloween and is in charge of driving an emergency response vehicle.

'The snow is coming down pretty hard, especially late in the afternoon yesterday and early evening," added Doster. "Winds were blowing 30-40 miles an hour with heavy snow and it made for treacherous driving. Thankfully, we were able to get through it and get back safely to our shelter."

As you can imagine, the need is still great on the Northeast Coast. The Red Cross is still accepting donations. If you'd like to help out with a monetary gift call: 1-800-RED-CROSS or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a $10 donation.
