BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) Doctor Csaba Marosan taught many upper level science classes at Trocaire College for eight years. That is, until last December when he was let go. Now he is claiming that his firing was based on bias; age, gender, and sexual orientation bias. "This is strictly finger pointing, isolating a person who is heterosexual," Marosan said.
But Trocaire College countered those accusations. James Grasso is the attorney representing Trocaire in this case. "The reason Doctor Marosan was terminated was because Middle State, the accrediting agency, came in and did a review and they claimed he did not have the proper teaching credentials," he said.
Now the New York State Division of Human Rights has filed a lawsuit on Marosan's behalf. Those representing Trocaire say it is simply about qualifications, while Dr. Marosan says he is more than qualified, and sees wrongdoing.
"Apparently I'm not being qualified to teach, but my expertise was good enough to get accreditation from Albany," Marosan said.
The case will now go to a public hearing, where both sides expect all the facts to come out.
