Local Bank Robberies May Be Linked

Buffalo police are on the look-out for an individual believed to be responsible for a number of recent city bank robberies, and one attempted robbery. The attempted robbery occurred this morning,
around 11:00am, at the Bank of America branch at 495 Elmwood
Avenue when a man passed a note to a teller. He fled the bank
empty-handed. About a half hour later - on the other side of the
city - the Bank of America branch office located at 1171 East Delavan Avenue was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash. "Detectives have determined that the same male, wearing a dark leather jacket and white baseball cap, entered the Bailey-Delavan Branch of Bank of America, and passed a note to a teller,demanding money," Dennis J. Richards, Chief of Detectives said. Police now believe the same individual is linked to these recent bank robberies. A Key Bank robbery that occurred on Friday, November 26th, at the branch located at 52 Amherst St.; an HSBC bank hold-up November 24th;
and the bank robbery at M&T's branch at 130 Grant Street. Anyone with information is asked to call the Tip Line at 847-2255.
