(WKBW release) A man was stopped at the Buffalo Niagara International Airport checkpoint Sunday after a TSA officer discovered that the man had a .380 caliber firearm loaded with seven bullets plus a spare magazine with seven more bullets stashed in his carry-on bag.
TSA contacted the Niagara Frontier Transit Authority Police, which responded, confiscated the weapon and ammunition and temporarily detained the man for questioning.
The passenger, a resident of Elma, was headed to Las Vegas. After an investigation, he was cleared to fly by local law enforcement. There was no impact to airport operations.
