Buffalo, NY (WKBW)- A historic Buffalo livery stable once slated for demolItion will soon be revived. Since the late 1800's the White Brothers Livery & Boarding Stable has stood on Jersey Street in Buffalo. Decades of neglect caused the brick building to fall apart and many believed it was beyond repair. The city planned on demolishing the building in 2008, but concerned neighbors and residents reached out to Developer Sam Savarino to see if something could be done. Savarino convinced the city to stop demolition and re-use the property. The City of Buffalo spent more than $574,000 to stabilize the building. The city then allocated an additional $1,089,986 to the developer to transform the site into an apartment complex. Savarino is now developing the property and says the complex will have 14 apartments with an enclosed parking lot. The project is expected to cost around $3.4 million.
