(WKBW release) According to a news release issued Wednesday by the Erie County Sheriff's Office, on Tuesday, March 5 at about 7:30 p.m., Erie County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a Town of Grand Island restaurant to investigate a complaint of a male suspect propositioning female employees by offering to pay them money in exchange for sex.
According to the news release:
While patrols were en route to the scene, a second complaint was received reporting the male suspect was now soliciting other females for sex in the restaurant parking lot. Upon arrival, deputies observed a male matching the suspect’s description walking away from the location. David Tirko, 52, of Grand Island, was subsequently stopped nearby.
After an investigation, Tirko was arrested and charged with:
Criminal solicitation in the 5th degree and Loitering for the purpose of engaging in prostitution.
While being processed at the Grand Island Substation, Tirko allegedly offered large financial bribes to the Deputies in exchange for releasing him.
He was then charged with: Bribery involving public servants in the 2nd degree.
Tirko was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment later Wednesday in the Town of Grand Island Court. Tirko is a registered New York State level 3 sex offender stemming from prior sexual abuse conviction involving a female victim.
