BUFFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) - A Lake Effect Snow warning is now issued for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties from Tuesday morning through early Wednesday morning.
Snow totals in these areas range from 3 to 5 inches Tuesday, another 3 to 5 inches Tuesday night leading to 5 to 10 inches in the most persistent snow bands.
Travel will be difficult with snow covered roads and poor visibility due to snow and blowing snow.
The rest of western New York including Erie, Niagara, Genesee, Wyoming, Allegany and Orleans counties are under a Lake Effect Snow Advisory.
Niagara and Orleans counties: Lake Effect Snow Advisory in effect from 4am Tuesday through 2pm Tuesday.
Northern Erie and Genesee counties: Lake Effect Snow Advisory in effect from 4am Tuesday through 2pm Tuesday.
Southern Erie and Wyoming counties: Lake Effect Snow Advisory in effect from 8am Tuesday through 1am Wednesday.
