BUFFALO, NY (WKBW)- Erie County Legislator and former State Senate Candidate Betty Jean Grant says she received a threatening letter. Grant says the letter is signed by the 'KKK' and says the author threatens her and her family if she did not "give up trying to win" the election. The letter is allegedly postmarked October 3rd, before Grant withdrew from the democratic primary race for the 63rd State Senate District Primary Race against incumbent Senator Tim Kennedy. The primary was too close to call on primary night. There were several recounts showing Kennedy as the winner, with the results verified by a State Supreme Court Justice. Following the judge's ruling, Betty Jean Grant decided that she would not appeal the ruling, but has since changed her mind. Following the discovery of the threatening letter, Grant plans to seek an appeal of the State Supreme Court outcome. Grant does not in anyway accuse the Kennedy Campaign of wrongdoing.
