EAST AURORA, NY (WKBW-TV) - With it's rolling hills, ponds, polo stables and historic buildings Knox Farm State Park is one of seven to save. It's been placed on the distinct list by the Preservation League of New York State that will help in providing resources and a long term vision.

The Knox family has owned the property for over 100 years before selling it to the State of New York in 2001. Seymour Knox IV says this is an excellent opportunity to transform the park.

"There's a bright future for soccer here," Knox says. "Getting the equestrian portion back would be wonderful getting the buildings in operation would be great and there's a lot of potential in a lot of different areas."

Tania Werbizky, the Regional Director of Technical Services for the Preservation League, says the focus is on the estates 21 buildings. Only three of them are being used today and there is lots of potential there.

"receptions, meeting, conferences area, they've wondered if they can stay here as a bed and breakfast and for all of that at the present is no," Werbizky said.
