(Buffalo, N.Y.) As the world reacts to the news of the death of terrorist Osama Bin Laden, a whole generation of children born after the 9-11 attacks are watching with interest.
Elementary school students have grown up in a country that has been at war for close to ten years. Security alerts and terrorist threats are a yearly occurrence.
While early adolescent children are trying to comprehend the politics and meanings behind the War on Terror, younger children need to be re-assured, says John Sheffield, Director and Principal at the Elmwood Village Charter School.
"That is a real important message for young children to hear, that adults are in charge and that we are going to keep them safe."
