BUFFALO, NY (WKBW-TV) - James Kaskie is out as Chief Executive Officer of Kaleida Health. Kaleida officials say he resigned both positions at Kaleida Health and Great Lakes Health System of Western New York.

Jody Lomeo, CEO of ECMC and vice chair of Great Lakes Health, has been named interim CEO of both Kaleida Health and Great Lakes Health while continuing in his role at ECMC.

Due to the decreasing number of patients visits, the company says there will be lay-offs. No specific are numbers available at this time. Many of the employees will be reassigned within the company.

There has been plenty of financial trouble plaguing the company. Kaleida had a third quarter loss of $14 million last year and has just broken even over the past three years.

Officials say this is because more and more people are choosing to seek treatment at ambulatory centers and private doctors officers.
