Juror Gets Jail for Facebook 'Friend' Request to Defendant

From juror to jail inmate.

According to the Sarasota (Fla.) Herald-Tribune, a judge on Thursday sentenced a 29-year-old Florida man to three days in jail for sending a Facebook "friend" request to a female defendant during a civil trial in which he was serving as a juror late last year.

The judge found the man -- who was dismissed from the jury  -- guilty of a misdemeanor count of contempt of court, according to the Herald-Tribune.
