KENMORE, N.Y. ( WKBW ) A juror dismissed from the manslaughter trial of Dr. James Corasanti Thursday was arrested on drunk driving charges.

Police say 40 year old Michael Barron crashed his car into a utility pole along Elmwood Avenue in front of Kenmore Mercy Hospital Wednesday night.

He then allegedly fled the scene.

Officers were able to find him because a witness followed Barron from the scene of the accident.

According to police, his blood alcohol content was well over the legal limit.

Barron faces several charges including DWI, and leaving the scene of an accident. He has since been processed and released.

Eyewitness News will continue to follow this story, including reaction from legal analyst Barry Covert on how this may impact the trial, which resumes on Friday. Corasanti is on trial in connection with a fatal hit and run accident that claimed the life of an Amherst teen last summer.
