BUFFALO, N.Y. ( WKBW ) Antuan Jordan appeared in Erie County Court Thursday morning in handcuffs to learn his fate. The sentence, one year in jail with time served.
Jordan plead guilty to the charge of abuse last month, and too full responsibility for his actions today in court.
This all came from an incident on Thanksgiving 2011 when Jordan's baby daughter was brought to Women and Children's Hospital in Buffalo suffering from bruises, contusions, and scratches on her legs, torso, and face.
This was the second time in a month the girl was hospitalized.
Jordan was not charged in the first case.
Jordan' attorney talked with Eyewitness News after the sentencing. He said, "I think it was a very fair sentence under the circumstances. I don't think this young man, he made a mistake, he is human, he doesn't deserve to be in state prison. I think the first step in these situations is to admit that you're wrong, and not try to blame the victim, which we often see in abuse cases."
Jordan also agreed to an order of protection, that he will have no contact with his infant daughter for at least the next seven years.
