January Fourth-Warmest on Record for Contiguous U.S., Report Says

According to the National Climatic Data Center, January 2012 ranked as the fourth-warmest in history for the contiguous U.S.

Temperatures in January 2012 in the contiguous U.S. averaged 36.3 degrees -- the warmest average for the month since 2006, according to the report.
