Greece, N.Y. (WKBW) – It’s an incident that has people talking. There is a video of bus monitor Karen Klein, 68, who was verbally abused by middle school students.

The ten-minute video is posted on YouTube and shows the students taunting and teasing Klein before she breaks down in tears. Her attackers were middle school students from the Greece School District, just outside Rochester. The video has gone viral and it has been viewed by millions online and on television.

The comments are horrible.

“You are just so fat. Put your glasses back on. Don’t go around here looking like a troll,” one of the students said.

The teens even went as far as to comment about the suicide of Klein’s son. Klein said she didn’t even know how bad the tormenting was until she watched the video. Now, she hopes the teens are punished for their harsh comments.

“I hope that this might help other people. To go through all of this for nothing would not be satisfactory,” Klein said.

Luis Recio is the person who shot the cell phone video. He said that he wishes he had done something to stop the teens.

“They told me to record it so I did. I feel bad about how they were making fun of her. If you see someone picking on someone, tell them to stop,” Recio said.

Police and school officials will hold a news conference, Thursday. They are expected to address what punishment these teens may face.

Meanwhile, a man in Toronto set up a website to raise money to send Klein on vacation. Many people said it is something the bus monitor deserves, especially after this ordeal. Donations so far have exceeded $100,000.
