Intoxicated Driver Leads to Two People Dead, Investigation Continues

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - One man and one woman are dead after a bizarre sequence of events, it all started with a routine traffic stop on Fillmore Avenue around 7 P.M.

Police stopped the car of 48-year-old, Issak Parker. They determined he was drunk behind the wheel.

One of the officers reached in his car to turn off the ignition, Parker then pressed on the accelerator and sped away dragging the officer a few feet.

Another officers gun discharged once. The officers then went to get their cars to follow after him, by that time Parker had hit many parked cars, several light posts including a traffic light. He spun out of control and was dead on the scene.

Where it gets even more tragic, one of the lights that was hit, fell on a woman.

50-year-old, Ida Murphy, who was walking from the market according to witnesses. She also died at the scene.

Officers say this all unfolded in a matter of seconds but had terrible consequences.

According to records, Parker does have a history of driving while intoxicated.
