Study: Insomnia has High Cost in Workplace

September 1, 2011 Updated Sep 1, 2011 at 5:03 PM EDT

A new study says lost sleep costs the average American employee more than 11 days of lost productivity over the course of the year, according to a USA Today story.

The report says lost productivity adds up to a total cost of more than $63 billion to the nation per year. More than 7,400 workers took part in the Harvard Medical School study in 2008-08.
