A 47-year-old inmate who attempted to commit suicide at the Erie County Holding Center on Dec. 23 died early Wednesday morning, the Erie County Sheriff's Office said.
Lester Foster died around 4 a.m. at Buffalo General Hospital, according to a news release.
Foster was remanded to the Erie County Holding Center on Dec. 22 on charges of felony DWI and other vehicle and traffic charges out of Buffalo City Court.
Foster attempted to hang himself during the early morning hours of Dec. 23 using his jail-issued uniform, according to the news release. Foster was resuscitated by Holding Center staff and taken to Buffalo General Hospital.
