EVANS, N.Y. (WKBW) - Firefighters were called into action to rescue two dogs stranded on the ice Thursday morning.

Both dogs fell through the ice and became submerged in the freezing waters of Lake Erie.

Their owner, who lives on the Waterfront, was no where in sight.

After a rescue by the Lake Erie Beach Fire Company, one dog was pronounced dead. Another was treated for hypothermia and is now in good condition.
