Collins, NY (WKBW)

Sunset Bay in the Town of Hanover has put residents on a recommended evacuation due to ice jam back ups in Cattaraugus Creek. Large chunks of ice and debris are plugging the water flow at the mouth of the creek. EWN reporter Jason Gruenauer is covering the story.

Latest release from the Buffalo City Engineers:

The City of Buffalo Department of Public Works and City Engineers have closed the Stevenson Street Bridge as a precaution at this time until the water begins to recede.

The temperatures have warmed up over the past few days and with it comes a rapid melt down of this winters snow pack.

EWN cameras were on location this morning as Taylor-Hollow Road in the Town of Collins was closed due to flooding. Officials are asking motorists in the area not to drive past the road flooded signs and use an alternate route.
