TOWN OF TONAWANDA, NY ( WKBW ) Angelo and Sue Di Salvo were married for 28 years, and Tuesday morning Mr. Di Salvo told Eyewitness News that his wife was a wonderful lady, who always had a smile and dealt with disability in a positive way.

53 year old Susan Di Salvo lost her life when a fire broke out inside her home late Monday afternoon.

The blaze spread quickly through the house at 272 Parkhurst Blvd. Neighbors used garden hoses to try and douse the flames.

But Susan Di Salvo, who suffered from multiple sclerosis, was unable to escape.

Tuesday morning, her family is looking for answers...wondering what sparked a fast moving fire that took the life of a loving mother and wife.

Angelo told Channel 7's Ed Reilly that, "It's just a freak, freak thing."
Mr. Di Salvo also wanted to thank the community for their outpouring of support.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
