BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) Hundreds of people turned out Saturday for the AIDS Walk to benefit AIDS Community Services.

Channel 7's John Borsa welcomed the sunshine and the crowd for the annual event that kicked off from Hoyt Lake at Delaware Park.

The 19th Annual AIDS Walk, was a 5K (3.1 mile) fund raising event. Family, friends and co-workers walked together or as individuals to fight this devastating epidemic.

The funds raised go directly to programs and services that help HIV+ individuals and their families right here in Western New York.

The Walk route wound through some of Buffalo's finest neighborhoods, beginning and ending Lakeside at Delaware Park.

WKBW was a proud co-sponsor of the event.
