Hundreds Attend Funeral for West Seneca Teen

(Orchard Park, NY) Freshman college student Ryan Purcell had his life all mapped out.

He was going to study engineering at SUNY Fredonia and run for the school's track team.

But those plans ended on October 8th, after a hit and run driver struck and killed the teen while he walked along Seneca Street in the Town of West Seneca.

Police have charged 29-year old Lori Maciejewski with felony 'Leaving the Scene of a Fatal Accident' and "Failure to Keep Right.'

Friday morning, hundreds of people gathered at Our Lady of the Scared Heart Church in Orchard Park for a mass of Christian Burial.

Most of those in attendance were former teachers and classmates from West Seneca West High School and St. Francis High School.

Ryan Purcell graduated from West Seneca West High School after spending three years at St. Francis High School.

At both schools, he was an honor student and played on the soccer and track teams.

His family donated his organs and asked that memorials be made in his name to:
