BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) Almost everyone got a taste of their favorite treats!
"I really liked the pulled pork sandwich form Fat Bob's," said Noelle Dickey.
"My wine slushy!" said Maureen Mellerski.
"The oreo milkshake," said Tim Dickey.
But others weren't so lucky. Brian Degnan comes to the Taste every year. This time he missed out on his favorite dish.
"I'm bummed out to see that they're pretty much sold out of all the cajun shrimp and it's disappointing, but what are you going to do? That's what happens when you get here late," said Degnan.
There was a sea of people filling the street throughout Niagara Square. The numbers aren't in yet, but organizers hope they broke the half-a-million mark.
And the weather didn't disappoint either! Along with folks enjoying cool treats, some even waded in the water at the McKinley Monument to beat the heat.
With over 250 culinary concoctions to enjoy, some food vendors emerged as winners. We caught up with this year's winner of Best Seafood and the People's Choice award.
"We've done a lot of work and we put a lot of effort into it so it brings a lot of joy to us that we were able to get the awards and that people really enjoy the food that we're serving," said Bonnie Wightman, Co-owner of Chester's Cajun Grill.
