BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The push to save jobs at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station reached the House Armed Services Committee on Wednesday. Lawmakers are trying to restore jobs that had been cut by the Pentagon.

845 of those jobs belong to the 107th Airlift Wing at the Niagara Falls Air Reserve Station. The unit is scheduled to be eliminated unless Congress saves it.

"Bottom line is we think this can be a good avenue to try and protect the Niagara Fall Air Base," said Rep. Kathy Hochul (D-Amherst).

"I'm cautious," she added. "I'm not making any predictions at this point but I would have to say that we're in a better place right now than we were a month ago."
