Orchard Park, NY (WKBW) Police officers in Orchard Park have arrested 18-year-old Jacob Rappleye and 22-year-old Anthony Guarino, both of Lancaster, accusing them of trying to break into an occupied house.

A call came in to 911 dispatchers just after 1 a.m. on Labor Day, alerting police of two people in dark clothing that appeared to be attempting to break into a home on Transit Road.

When police arrived, they found the homeowner and his son holding the two suspects, Rappleye and Guarino, at gunpoint. The homeowner told police that he and his son had heard a noise outside the house. When they went outside to investigate, they found the suspects trying to use a ladder to climb into a second story window.

Police took Rappleye and Guarino into custody, charging them with attempted burglary, criminal mischief, and unlawful possession of marijuana. They were arraigned in Orchard Park Town Court.

Jacob Rappleye was released on bail following arraignment. His accused accomplice, Anthony Guarino, was taken to the Erie County Holding Center.
