Amherst, NY (WKBW) - It's mall mayhem across the country! Stores are open round the clock, offering mega-deals to last minute shoppers.

With advertisements and coupons promising 20 ... maybe even up to 50-percent off, a lot of people are waiting until the last minute to grab those holiday bargains.

Perhaps there is a good side to procrastinating. Posters are plastered across the mall -- promising big savings for those who still have gifts to check off their list.

Patti McLain says she has "seen a couple signs for everything in the store is 40-percent off ... But I think as I make my way down, I hope to see 50-60-even 70 percent!"

Sharon Labrarb says she is "trying to see if we can get more off -- and we're finding out a lot more things are on sale than before."

Shoppers packed the malls, saying the bargain busters are part of a holiday tradition. Many children say that includes Santa as well.

Other people just like procrastinating -- like Bill Romanini, who says "every year. I'll be shopping tomorrow too."

However, for many families the highlight of a shopping trip less than two days before Christmas -- they simply enjoy the mall madness.

Angela Hearon says "I love the rush with all the people and all the lovely attitudes sometimes."

If you do not have have your presents yet, don't worry. Many stores and malls are extending hours until 10 or 11 pm on Sunday night, anticipating that holiday rush.
