Buffalo, NY (WKBW) - As you can imagine, Sabres fans are fired up to see their team back on the ice.

With professional hockey back in action, Sabres fans cannot wait for games to start.

Fans in Buffalo believe the Sabres will have a good season, and are excited to see what hockey will bring this year.

Most people believe that half a season is better than none, and hope this will jump start the part's of Buffalo's economy that took a hit with the loss of hockey.

Mark Nagy says, "It's been too long. But I'm very glad -- I'm a season ticket holder and so is the rest of my family. At least we get a half season -- that's better than keeping it shut down the rest of the year."

Some fans remain a little bitter, believing negotiations took too long. Kevin Kumpf says the lockout "almost tainted the season because there will be an asterisk next to the winner of the Stanley Cup this year."

However, most cannot wait to dust off their jerseys that they kept on hand for a season that many had ruled out.

Bill McGowan says "Everyday we sit around the house and wish that we can watch hockey. It's great that now we're going to get to do that again. It's been a long time."

People have been getting their hockey fix watching the Rochester Amerks and the World Juniors. However, fans say there's nothing like a Sabres game.
