BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Hockey is back in Buffalo at least for Friday night as the Rochester Americans take on the Lake Erie Monsters at the First Niagara Center.
Downtown bars and restaurants were filled up before the game. It is a return to normalcy for businesses who haven't had hockey crowds since last April.
Fans made the drive to the Queen City from Rochester and Sabres fans gobbled up tickets for a chance to catch some action on the ice once again.
Sabres officials tell us the game sold out with 19,000 tickets sold. That beats the old record for the largest crowd at an Amerks game by 1100 seats.
The puck drops at 7:05 pm at the First Niagara Center.
