High winds are starting to bring down power lines and trees around WNY. EWN has crews out covering the areas hardest hit.

Here's the latest from the National Weather Service out of Buffalo:

NIAGARA-ORLEANS-MONROE-NORTHERN ERIE-GENESEE-CHAUTAUQUA-
SOUTHERN ERIE-
INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...NIAGARA FALLS...MEDINA...ROCHESTER...
BUFFALO...BATAVIA...JAMESTOWN...ORCHARD PARK...SPRINGVILLE
...GUSTY WINDS THIS AFTERNOON...
GUSTY WINDS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS NORTHWESTERN NEW YORK...INCLUDING
THE BUFFALO AND ROCHESTER METROPOLITAN AREAS...AND THE NIAGARA FRONTIER.
WIND WILL GUST UP TO 45 MPH THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON. WINDS MAY BE
STRONG ENOUGH TO BLOW UNSECURED LAWN FURNITURE...OR TO DOWN A FEW
SMALL TREE BRANCHES. WINDS WILL GRADUALLY DIMINISH LATE AFTERNOON
INTO THIS EVENING.
