BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - The "Taste of Buffalo" is celebrating its 30th anniversary with even more healthy choices.

Ahi Tuna Nachos, Creole Chicken Wraps, and Dark Chocolate Chip Bananas are just a few of the healthy options being offered at the 30th annual "Taste of Buffalo" this weekend.

The event is the only food festival in the nation that requires all participating restaurants to offer a healthy dish.

While there are no specific guidelines, the better-for-you options must have less fat, sodium, and sugar compared to the typical items on the menu.

"We try to work with the restaurant," said Carrie Meyer, Executive Director at Independent Health. "We don't want to take away the flavor but encourage them to create a meal with 600 or less calories."

New this year, you can rate the healthy options you sampled at the festival online at

it is to to give the restaurants feedback to help them improve the healthier options they offer.
