LOCKPORT, N.Y. ( WKBW ) Staff at a Lockport Rehabilitation Center rallied Saturday to protest planned layoffs at the facility.

According to a news advisory from union officials, the employees of Odd Fellow and Rebekah Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, concerned family members of the residents, and healthcare advocates rallied to save jobs at the Health Care Center.

The rally was intended to bring attention to how the proposed layoffs are impacting care to the residents, and the long-term impact on Lockport and the surrounding area.

Channel 7's Jason Greunauer spoke with officials from SEIU 1199 to hear why union workers feel any changes could impact care.

WKBW reached out to officials from Odd Fellow and Rebekah Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, but did not receive comment.
