BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) Buffalo Police continue to investigate a head on collision that killed two people early Saturday morning.
The crash happened around 4;45am on the Kensington Expressway between Utica and Best Streets.
Investigators say a driver was traveling in the wrong direction on Route 33 Westbound, when that driver struck another vehicle head on.
The two men that were in the vehicle that was hit were pronounced dead at the scene.
The wrong way driver was taken to ECMC and is in critical condition as of this posting.
Charges are pending against him.
Police shutdown the 33 westbound between the 198 and Jefferson Avenue for several hours while investigating the crash.
The victims of the Satruday crash are identified as 37 year old driver Orlando Anderson of Buffalo. The passenger in the vehicle was Thomas Johnson of Ohio.
