Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -- There is a lot of evidence presented to the court today. Most notably, enhanced surveillance video that shows the moments before, during, and after Aasiya Hassan was beheaded. The actual crime took place mostly out of frame, and the video was dark and grainy. It does appear to establish that Aasiya was killed 40 seconds after walking through the door to Bridges TV. Muzzammil Hassan was waiting in the dark before she walks in.
There were many objections again today to Hassan's cross examination of witnesses. At one point he asked a detective if aasiya told him she had a dominant personality, was abused as a child, or had killed her brother. All of those questions were objected to by the prosecutor who says he is trying to have the jury hear hearsay backhandedly. Silent council Jeremy Schwartz says these are points we will hear again.
The day started with Hassan adding more potential witnesses, including the prosecutor, Colleen Curtain Gable, and Judge Franczyk. Judge Franczyk asked Hassan how he would testify in a case he is presiding over. Hassan says they can figure out the logistics later.
