BUFFALO, NY ( WKBW ) Following a pre-trial conference Tuesday morning, it looks like Jeremy Schwartz will now represent Muzamil Hassan for his trial.
Hassan has changed attorneys several times, but Schwartz says he has reached an agreement with Hassan. Hassan is accused of beheading his wife Aasiya inside Bridges TV in February of 2009, a station the couple owned in Orchard Park.
Schwartz would not yet comment about Hassan's defense for the trial, and it's unclear if he will testify.
Schwartz told Eyewitness News, "At this point, I'm not going to have a comment about that, but come Monday we'll be selecting a jury and opening statements shortly after, and you'll get a good sense of the case from that."
Schwartz is expected to meet Hassan this afternoon inside the Erie County Holding Center to finalize their arrangement.
Hassan also has a pending case in Buffalo City Court regarding an alleged assault on a sheriff's deputy inside the Erie County Holding Center.
Lawyers will head back to court this Friday, to finalize last minute details before beginning Hassan's murder trial.
