2 Charged in Cheektowaga Hammer Attack

Cheektowaga, N.Y. (WKBW-TV) Two women have been arrested after a violent encounter at the Burlington Coat Factory in Cheektowaga Tuesday night.

Investigators say around 7 p.m. three women, one armed with a hammer came to the store on Walden Avenue and attacked two other women in the parking lot.

Police say 42 year old Alicia Lombardo brought the hammer and at some point during the attack dropped it.

That's when police say one of the two women being attacked, 25 year old Shantia Houze, picked up the hammer and hit another one of her attackers.

No one was seriously injured but Lombardo and Houze have been arrested and charged.

According to police, Houze later used that hammer to break out the window of the car her attackers came in

Lombardo is facing 3 charges: menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and reckless endangerment.

Houze is facing 3 charges: assault in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal mischief.
